Senior Researcher

Vistra Communications seeks a Senior Researcher to support the Department of the Army’s Office of the Chief of Public Affairs (OCPA). In this role, you will provide strategic research, insights, and data-driven recommendations to optimize Army communication efforts across traditional and digital media channels.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Metrics Development and Campaign Analysis: Collaborate with campaign leads to establish, track, and assess metrics; recommend communication strategies; and apply industry best practices using diverse media data sources.
  • Media and Social Media Monitoring Oversight: Oversee analysis of content on mainstream media and Army platforms, identify key influencers, and deliver monthly detailed reports including trends, tone, and engagement metrics.
  • Social Listening and Advanced Analytical Expertise: Utilize advanced tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Talkwalker, Meltwater, Google Analytics) for social listening and performance analysis, supporting OCPA’s strategic goals.
  • Comprehensive Data Analysis and Reporting: Compile multimodal reports using business intelligence tools; manage databases for communication-related data and ensure compliance with retention guidelines.
  • Collaboration and Communication Recommendations: Work with OCPA divisions, communicate analytic insights and produce weekly "Good News Stories" reports to enhance Army messaging.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Maintain industry awareness, recommend analysis methodologies, and ensure reports are compatible with Microsoft Office Suite.

Requirements

Must hold a Master's degree with at least 5 years of social science or behavioral research experience in fields such as Communications, Public Relations, Data Analytics, or a related discipline. Preferred candidates have an advanced degree in Media Analysis or Data Science.

Extensive experience in media research, social media metrics, data analysis, and familiarity with tools like Sprinklr, Talkwalker, Meltwater, and Google Analytics is required. Must be a U.S. citizen as verified by I-9/E-Verify due to federal contract requirements.
