Position Summary
We are looking for a Consultant to join Vista Equity Partners' Value Creation Team (VCT) in the Product and Technology Practice. This role involves advising portfolio company leaders on product, technology, and cybersecurity strategies to drive transformational success. You will assist with both pre-investment diligence and post-investment transformation.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with VCT colleagues, investment teams and portfolio executives to drive product and technology initiatives.
- Develop investment theses and conduct due diligence on product and technology value creation.
- Support initiatives across engineering, product management, AI, and cybersecurity.
- Drive the rapid development of new AI products and optimize engineering processes.
Primary Responsibilities Details
Problem Framing & Solving: Structure and run workshops on use case readiness, architecture review, and product business cases.
Analytics & Modeling: Provide analytical support, build models, and present data-driven conclusions.
Deliverable Development: Create client-ready deliverables aligned with best consulting standards.
Project / Workstream Management: Synthesize complex inputs into clear next steps and ensure accountability for results.
Qualifications
- Passion and curiosity for technology, software, and data.
- Basic proficiency in modern AI tools for analysis, code generation and prototyping.
- 2-4 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or software operations.
- Strong communication, project management, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Preferred background in Engineering or Computer Science from a top institution.
Compensation & Location
The expected pay range is between 110,000 and 140,000 USD, with additional bonus and benefits components. The role is based in San Francisco, CA, Austin, TX, or remote with some in-office mentorship required.
