Job Overview

The Staff Systems Engineer Developer Experience is responsible for engineering and supporting technologies and tools to enhance the developer experience for Visa’s Development community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineer vendor products to align with Visa’s environment.
  • Create implementation procedures with automation tools and pipelines.
  • Setup and maintain Kubernetes or VM environments for tools.
  • Integrate third-party services and create custom implementations.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity and Governance to ensure compliance.
  • Interface with vendors to tailor products to Visa’s needs.
  • Perform regular housekeeping to ensure application stability.
  • Develop standards and guidelines for platform usage.
  • Support Developer Tools projects and complex technical issues.
  • Participate in L3 on-call support and audit/compliance discussions.

Tools and Technologies

Tools include project management, source code management, build and deployment management, test and quality tools, as well as developer productivity and analytics tools.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position with in-office days as confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic: 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree or corresponding experience with an Advanced degree.

Preferred: Experience in DevOps role, proficiency in GitHub, Jenkins, GH Actions, Artifactory, ArgoCD, SonarQube, DTRs, and hands-on exposure to Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure, and programming languages like Java/Python/Groovy/GoLang. Familiar with Unix/Windows commands, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools like Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, and Cloud watch.
