Job Description: Sr. Director, Account Executive
We are seeking a Sr. Director, Account Executive to support the National FI (Wells Fargo) segment team. This role drives sales and aligns solutions to boost payment volume and revenue for one of Visa’s Global accounts in the US.
Responsibilities include driving account revenue growth, expanding current portfolios, and identifying new opportunities for engagement. Collaboration is central to the role, requiring close partnership with both Visa teams and the clients to deliver tailored solutions across product, marketing, and analytics disciplines.
The individual in this role will engage with Money Movement Solutions, Value-Added Services, Global and North America Product teams, Finance, Visa Consulting & Analytics, Marketing Services, and technical experts. They will contribute to major projects, support customized integration efforts, enhance strategic value for the client, and cultivate strong stakeholder relationships. There is a strong focus for these clients on money movement, stablecoin, and payment innovation.
Visa is seeking a professional with expertise in payments strategy, who can thrive in an environment that is fast-paced, complex, and occasionally ambiguous. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities are crucial.
The ideal candidate brings success in building effective partnerships and delivering innovative solutions within the payments and technology space. Creativity, decisiveness, and a collaborative communication style are key, along with a demonstrated ability to help clients achieve their strategic objectives.
Accountabilities
- Lead Visa’s strategic partnership opportunities with Wells Fargo for new complex projects.
- Own the client relationship, drive adoption of new technical solutions, and spearhead future use case development to strengthen the relationship.
- Reports to the Head of the Wells Fargo Account.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- 12 or more years of relevant business development experience, preferably in payments
- Understanding of payment systems and products (e.g., card networks, digital wallets, money movement, consumer, commercial, debit, credit) and ecosystem participants.
- Understanding of money movement, stablecoin, and fraud solutions
- Experienced solution sales leader with a record of accomplishment for delivering results, must possess the ability to identify the inspired path forward to partner, structure creative partnership constructs, and demonstrate success in contract negotiations to drive new business.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills. Experience in managing relationships and cultivating deep, trusted partnerships with clients and partners. Ability to explain complex business concepts to broad audiences in an engaging way.
- Natural collaborator with excellent communication skills. Must be self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity, possessing the maturity and competence to influence across multiple levels and organizations including internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and group presentation skills with executive presence
- Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to challenge the status quo and identify new opportunities to innovate and differentiate.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 186,800.00 to 299,100.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
