About the role
AWS Cloud FinOps Analyst
Virtusa is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud FinOps Analyst to join our team. This role is crucial for monitoring and optimizing our AWS cloud spending. You will play a key part in identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring efficient resource utilization across our AWS accounts and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze AWS spend across accounts and services.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, including rightsizing, storage optimization, Reserved Instances (RIs), Savings Plans, and waste reduction.
- Build dashboards and reports using AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, Cost and Usage Report (CUR), and Billing Console.
- Manage tagging compliance, chargeback, showback, and conduct cloud cost reviews.
- Automate cost analysis using Python, SQL, and AWS tools like Athena, Glue, and Lambda.
- Collaborate effectively with Engineering, DevOps, Finance, and Procurement teams.
- Support AWS purchasing cycles and promote cloud cost governance best practices.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, DevOps, or finance.
- Strong knowledge of AWS pricing, billing, RIs, Savings Plans, and Spot Instances.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, CUR, and Billing Console.
- Experience with cloud cost management tools such as CloudHealth, Cloudability, Flexera, or Harness.
- Proficiency in Excel and BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or QuickSight.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
