Essential Job Functions
The Patient Service Representative - ENT is responsible for:
- Scheduling hospital and ambulatory admissions
- Collecting pre-admission testing data and coordinating required tests
- Scheduling diagnostic tests and procedures using an orders management system
- Arranging and distributing surgery schedules
- Communicating issues to Nurse/Physician/Clinical Manager
- Completing necessary patient forms accurately
- Performing clerical duties such as faxing, photocopying, scanning, filing and mailing
- Maintaining positive relationships with physicians and nursing staff
General Job Functions
The role also entails:
- Submitting and managing necessary documents for hospital and patient procedures
- Booking and scheduling inpatient, outpatient, and special procedures
- Handling insurance and pre-certification requirements
- Rescheduling or canceling procedures when needed
- Providing customer service to ease patient anxiety
- Logging surgical procedures and arranging specialty equipment/services
Education, Certification, and Experience
Required education: High School/GED and Vocational/Technical training preferred. A Heart Saver certification is required within 90 days of hire. Experience required ranges from 0 to 1 year, with 2-4 years being preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, experience with EHR, Practice Management Systems, and standard office equipment is highly beneficial.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly pay range: $18.13 - $22.02. VillageMD offers benefits including Medical, Dental, Life, Disability, Vision, FSA coverages, and a 401k savings plan.
