Job Overview
The Patient Service Representative - Allergy is responsible for scheduling hospital and ambulatory admissions, coordinating pre-admission testing, and managing diagnostic tests and procedures. You will help maintain positive relationships with physicians, nurses, and patients while ensuring compliance with pre-certification requirements.
Essential Job Functions
- Schedule and enter diagnostic tests and procedure orders.
- Coordinate pre-admission testing and required consents.
- Manage surgery schedules and distribute assignments.
- Perform clerical tasks including faxing, scanning, and filing.
- Maintain effective communication with clinical teams.
General Job Functions
Demonstrates working knowledge of booking/scheduling inpatient, outpatient, and special procedures; understands insurance and pre-certification processes; ensures proper documentation submission; and expertly manages rescheduling and cancellations. Uses customer service skills to alleviate patient anxiety and employs good judgment to increase physician productivity.
Education, Certification, and Requirements
- High School/GED required; Vocational/Technical School preferred.
- Heart Saver certification within 90 days of hire.
- 0 – 1 years experience required; 2-4 years preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
- Proficient with standard office equipment and Windows based systems.
Compensation & Benefits
