A Viking Leadership Role
As a Beverage Manager, you will be a Viking Shipboard Leader representing Viking’s values and leadership philosophy. You are a hospitality professional who leads by example, takes ownership, and empowers your team to succeed. You will be expected to work flexibly, remain composed under pressure, and uphold Viking’s standards.
Purpose of Position
This role ensures efficient operations of all bar lounges, restaurants, and Guest areas where beverage services are provided. You will oversee beverage operations, sanitation, and maintenance, while managing sales, inventory, and guest service to drive revenue and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to supervise beverage sales and monitor reports.
- Manage beverage stock holding in coordination with the Inventory Manager.
- Oversee opening and closing of outlets with proper manning and setup.
- Assist in organizing shipboard functions and special events.
- Lead, train, and motivate a multi-cultural Beverage Department team.
- Enforce high standards for sanitation, safety and guest service in accordance with Viking’s STAR Service Standards and Public Health Policies.
- Manage performance reviews, scheduling, and HR related matters for direct reports.
- Maintain impeccable grooming and secure company property during challenging conditions.
- Stay knowledgeable on itinerary details and shipboard activities.
Your Profile
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Beverage Manager or similar role in a premium hospitality or bar environment is required. Shipboard experience is essential. Excellent English communication skills, strong administrative ability with proficiency in PC-based applications, and a track record in leading multi-cultural teams are key. Professional appearance, guest orientation, and adherence to Public Health Policies are a must.
Guidelines and Regulations
Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, STAR Service Standards and Viking’s Grooming Standards. Compliance with Public Health Policies and proper use of PPE is mandatory. Participation in onboard training, fire prevention, and emergency exercises is required.
