About the Hotel General Manager Role at Viking
As a Hotel General Manager with Viking, you will be instrumental in planning and overseeing all hotel department activities onboard. This includes entertainment, retail, concessionaire services, and Food and Beverage (F&B) events. You will work closely with respective Department Heads to ensure all operations, from cruise layouts to F&B presentations, align with Viking Cruises' stringent STAR Service Standards. Your responsibilities extend to supervising shore excursion sales, future cruise bookings, and tour dispatches, always ensuring a seamless guest experience.
A critical aspect of this role involves meticulous financial oversight, including cost control, adherence to budgets, inventory management, forecasting, and managing the ship's accounts. You will be responsible for upholding the absolute cleanliness and order of the vessel in strict accordance with all Public Health Policies and Procedures. Furthermore, you will lead and support a diverse, multicultural team, fostering high employee satisfaction, productivity, and retention through effective guidance, training, and information dissemination, all while demonstrating visible leadership and interacting actively with both guests and crew.
Your Profile
To excel as a Hotel General Manager, you must possess a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, with mandatory shipboard experience. A diploma from an internationally recognized hotel school is required, and craft training or equivalent is highly preferred. Fluency in Mandarin is essential for this role, while excellent English communication skills are a significant advantage. The position demands strong administrative capabilities, proficiency in PC-based databases, spreadsheets, and word processing systems. You should be flexible, stress-resistant, and a committed team player with a guest-focused, service-oriented, and positive personality. Impeccable hygiene standards, professional appearance, and exceptional knowledge of all Public Health Policies are non-negotiable.
