What you'll do

The IT Infrastructure Engineer will support Viasat's Satellite Control Centres (SCC) located in the UK/NL and the US. The role involves maintaining and updating a suite of hardware and software systems used for Satellite Monitoring, Control, and Analysis.

• Maintain Windows and RHEL machines, including installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate timely installation of monthly MS Updates and manage Active Directory users and GPOs.
• Conduct regular backups and monitor system performance/health.
• Support third party tools and scripts required by the SCC teams.
• Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rota and ensure rapid response to operational needs.

What you'll need

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Windows Server (2022, 2016), Windows 7/10/11, Microsoft Active Directory, GPOs, VMware vSphere ESX, and RHEL. Experience with HP/Dell hardware, TCP/IP networks, and high availability systems is beneficial.

What will help you on the job

Additional experience in HP hardware, RAID Arrays, EMC Storage solutions, Veritas Netbackup, ServiceNow, AWS, Nagios XI, and strong PC skills involving MS Windows, MS Office, Database programs, and web-based systems will be an advantage.
