Role Overview
The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for consultation, assessment, and interventions for diverse client groups across Southern Ontario and the Capital region. This role works within a continuous quality improvement framework to ensure excellent client care.
Key Areas of Accountability
- Assess and diagnose clients using standardized and non-standardized tests.
- Devises and implements personalized treatment programs.
- Monitors client progress and evaluates treatments continuously.
- Counsels clients, caregivers, and family members on managing communication deficits.
- Collaborates with physicians and health teams for client care planning.
- Maintains accurate documentation following legal and professional standards.
- Keeps up-to-date with current practices in Speech Language Pathology.
Qualifications & Experience
Required qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology, membership with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario, and a minimum of two years of clinical experience. Expertise in managing complex communication disorders is essential.
Compensation & Benefits
Estimated annual earning potential is between $80,000 and $130,000. Benefits include a pension plan, funding for education and professional development, comprehensive orientation and training, mentorship, career development, wellness resources, and various staff perks.
