Service Technician / Field Service Engineer / Pump & Controls Technician
A leading manufacturer and developer of pump and fluid handling solutions within the Marine, Defence, and Industrial Process sectors is seeking an experienced electro-mechanical Service Technician to join their US field team. This is a highly mobile role with significant travel, ideal for candidates with strong PLC, automation, and electrical experience who are comfortable applying mechanical skills on pumps, valves, and fluid power systems.
Package
- $35–$42 per hour + high overtime potential
- Fully remote field-based position
- Nationwide travel with expenses covered (140–180 travel days per year)

Service Technician / Field Service Engineer / Pump & Controls Technician Role
- Provide service, maintenance, repair, and commissioning on pump systems, valves, actuators, hydraulics, piping, and ancillary marine equipment.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-controlled systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Rockwell) including VFDs, HMIs, and control panels.
- Perform fault diagnosis on centrifugal, positive displacement, and internal gear pumps.
- Support automation and control system installation, commissioning, and optimization.
- Work across marine, defence, and industrial process sites, sometimes in confined spaces or at height.
- Act as site supervisor when required and liaise with internal engineering teams and clients.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships, delivering high-quality service in a mobile field environment.
Service Technician / Field Service Engineer / Pump & Controls Technician Requirements
- Strong electrical and automation skills; experience with PLCs and industrial control systems is essential.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience on pumps, valves, actuators, or hydraulics. Electrical-first candidates can be trained on mechanical systems.
- Previous field service experience in marine, defence, or industrial process industries is highly desirable.
- Ability to travel extensively across the US and occasionally internationally (Canada, Latin and South America).
- Professional approach with attention to safety, reliability, and high standards of workmanship.
- Apprentice-trained or degree-level candidates in electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical disciplines encouraged to apply.
- Ex-military or candidates with prior structured engineering experience considered advantageous.
