The Role: Security Software Development Engineer

We are seeking a passionate, entrepreneurial, and tech-savvy Security Software Development Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of cutting-edge security features for Versa Networks' Cloud offering and on-prem software solutions.
• Provide crucial support and debug complex customer-reported problems on Versa's hosted platform/solution.
• Integrate and enhance CASB, DLP, and other advanced security functionalities within our cloud firewall architecture.
• Collaborate closely with team members to design and develop innovative security solutions.
• Engage with customers directly to understand their challenges and propose effective solutions.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve intricate issues, continuously driving innovation through cross-functional teamwork.
• Assist in solving customer issues and queries from the field, ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of professional experience in Information Security, with a strong focus on firewall and security software development.
• Profound understanding of network technology and protocols, including TCP/IP, Routing, Firewalls, IPS, IDS, HTTP, and DNS.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of IDS/IPS/Firewall, DPI, Forward and Reverse Proxies, Antivirus, DLP, CASB, RBI, UEBA, Obfuscation.
• Solid understanding and experience with various application protocols like HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, TLS, DNS.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security architectures, and encryption techniques.
• A proactive team player with a "can-do" attitude and strong initiative.
• Ability to thrive independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced start-up environment.
• Excellent communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong expertise in large-scale software design and development.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
