Role Overview: Product Design Mechanical Engineer Intern (Winter Co-op)
As a Product Design Mechanical Engineer Intern at Verkada, you will help design and develop new cameras, access control systems, sensors, and other enterprise IoT products. You will own the mechanical design process from prototype through mass production and contribute directly to Verkada's future products.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of products from concept to mass production.
- Join a small, fast-paced team and make key design decisions.
- Prototype and analyze mechanical systems for enterprise hardware challenges.
- Collaborate closely with Electrical Engineers and Industrial Designers.
- Design parts for mass manufacturing including DFM/DFA, vendor collaboration, and testing.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
- Available for a Winter Co-Op starting around January 5th for 4-12 months.
- Strong understanding of strength of materials, thermodynamics, and manufacturing.
- Experience with 3D CAD software and rapid prototyping.
- Passion for user-centric, aesthetically pleasing design.
- Startup mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-growing company environment.
