About the Role
As a Software Engineer on the CDN Security team, you will secure customer websites by identifying malicious traffic patterns among billions of requests, ensuring that Vercel customers only pay for valid traffic. This role reports directly to the head of the CDN Product area.
Work location is flexible: if you are within a commuting distance of our offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), you will have in-office days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday; otherwise, the role is fully remote.
What You Will Do
- Analyze traffic patterns to identify bad traffic and actors.
- Build and operate a scalable, low latency Firewall for millions of websites.
- Advance the state of the art in web security.
About You
- Minimum 3 years of experience handling denial of service attacks.
- Skilled with web servers and network protocols such as HTTP and TCP.
- Experienced with distributed systems.
- Proficient in Go or Lua.
- Advanced knowledge in Bot Detection and Observability capabilities.
