About the Role
The Developer Advocacy Director leads the Developer Experience team, guiding Developer Experience Engineers who identify developer problems and solve them at scale. This is an evolution of developer relations focused on product outcomes rather than traditional evangelism.
What You Will Do
- Redefine and lead the DevRel function as a systems-level discipline.
- Set strategy and direction for Vercel Labs to solve developer friction.
- Operationalize agent-first developer advocacy with technical content and outreach.
- Turn developer insight into impactful product changes through feedback loops.
- Measure and optimize DevRel output tied to developer activation and growth.
About You
- Experienced in leading Developer Advocacy or similar technical programs.
- Deep knowledge in modern web development and platform architecture.
- Ability to act as an internal entrepreneur and solve ambiguous problems.
- Hands-on familiarity with agent-driven development, LLMs, and emerging workflows.
- Comfortable in high-ambiguity environments and prioritizing high-leverage solutions.

The base pay range in San Francisco, CA is $200,000-$300,000, with adjustments based on experience and location.
Location
For those within commuting distance of SF, NY, London, or Berlin, in-office anchor days are required. Otherwise, the role is fully remote.
