About the Role

CI/CD is the beating heart of Vercel. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on the CI/CD team, you will own systems that power millions of builds every day. This role blends product thinking with deep systems ownership, ensuring fast, resilient, and secure developer workflows.

What You Will Do

  • Own and evolve infrastructure powering Vercel’s build and deployment lifecycle.
  • Design and operate high-performance microservices for millions of builds daily.
  • Lead projects from design to long-term operational improvements.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure seamless developer workflows.
  • Set standards for scalability, reliability, and developer productivity.
  • Participate in on-call rotations ensuring system reliability.
  • Contribute to open-source projects representing Vercel’s commitment.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

About You

  • 6+ years of experience with backend applications and distributed systems at scale.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Expertise in AWS and Terraform.
  • Proven track record of end-to-end project ownership.
  • Skilled at cross-team collaboration and setting technical direction.
  • Experience mentoring and fostering strong engineering practices.
  • Curious and eager to push the boundaries of modern software delivery.

Bonus If You

  • Are familiar with React or Next.js.
  • Have experience with DynamoDB.
  • Have contributed to CI/CD platforms for internal teams.
  • Have optimized build systems for monorepos or polyrepo setups.
  • Have worked with build caching, artifact storage, or dependency management.
