Position Overview

The Meter Operations Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing customer experience. The role involves leadership and oversight of the Meter Operations organization responsible for meter reading, installations, maintenance, compliance, and data analytics for over 200,000 meter connections.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead teams in installation, maintenance, and monitoring of residential, commercial, and industrial metering systems.
• Oversee Supervisor(s) managing daily operations including meter installations, changes, readings, and high bill investigations.
• Manage service orders from release to billing, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• Administer meter test bench certifications, regulatory compliance reporting, and testing activities.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with other teams for optimal scheduling, asset management, and troubleshooting.
• Develop, monitor, and adjust reading schedules to minimize estimated reads and ensure efficiency.
• Oversee inventory, budgeting, reporting, and contractor management for meter-related activities.
• Support emergency field visits and resolve critical issues affecting major accounts.
• Deploy initiatives to reduce non-revenue water and drive equipment updates.

Qualifications

• B.S. in business or related field; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in service operations leadership.
• Experience in union environments is a plus.
• Strong knowledge in meter systems, backflow prevention, and repair operations.
• Proficiency with workforce management tools, customer information systems, and Google products.
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid state driver’s license required; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
