About the Role: Operations Manager DAO Governance Lead at Venus Labs

As an Operations Manager DAO Governance Lead at Venus Labs, you will be instrumental in owning the end-to-end DAO operations for Venus. This high-stakes role involves running proposals, managing votes, executing treasury deploys, and significantly boosting participation within the DAO. Your meticulous operational execution will directly drive protocol upgrades, incentives, and key partnerships for Venus.

Key Responsibilities

• DAO Operations Mastery: Manage the full proposal lifecycle, from temperature checks to Snapshot votes and on-chain execution. Flawlessly execute Venus Improvement Proposals (VIPs) via multisig/timelocks, ensuring accurate quorum tracking (600k XVS) and managing execution delays.
• Treasury & Allocations: Oversee the substantial $40M+ XVS treasury. This includes proposing strategic spends for incentives, grants, and audits, modeling yield strategies, and reporting on ROI to voters to maintain financial health and transparency.
• Participation Engine: Innovate and implement strategies to increase voter turnout by 10x. This will involve gamifying voting through bounties and leaderboards, organizing delegation drives, and hosting regular weekly AMAs/Spaces to engage the community.
• Governance Tooling: Maintain and optimize core governance tools such as the community forum (community.venus.io), Snapshot, and Tally. Develop and utilize dashboards (e.g., Dune Analytics) to track and report on key participation metrics.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various internal teams, including risk for parameter adjustments, product for new launches, and developers for protocol upgrades. Be prepared to lead crisis response, such as managing emergency VIPs in cases like Oracle failures.
• Reporting: Generate comprehensive monthly DAO reports covering participation statistics, treasury health, and operational velocity to ensure transparency and accountability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DAO operations within the DeFi space (e.g., Aave, Compound, MakerDAO).
• Deep expertise in DeFi Governance: Proven track record of launching 50+ proposals, thorough understanding of XVS voting mechanisms, VIPs, and delegation processes.
• Proficiency with governance toolkits: Expert user of Snapshot and Tally; capable of using Python and Notion for dashboard creation; adept at using X/Discord for community engagement.
• Extensive Crypto Operations experience: Hands-on experience as a multisig signer and managing treasury operations (e.g., Safe, Gnosis).
• Educational background in Operations or Business; a strong on-chain portfolio is valued over traditional resumes.
• Possess strong soft skills: High-agency executor thriving in decentralized environments; ability to communicate complex votes and concepts simply and effectively.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in building custom DAO tools, such as bespoke Snapshot strategies.
• Previous contributions or work experience with organizations like Gauntlet, RiskDAO, or directly with Venus.
• Multilingual capabilities, particularly Arabic/Chinese, to engage with global delegators (with a focus on BNB Chain).
• Proficiency in Solidity for VIP scripting.
