Job Summary

The Head of AI and Automation will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, and managing Ventra Health’s AI and automation strategy. This includes defining the enterprise roadmap, deploying high-impact use cases, establishing governance and performance standards, and leading cross-functional teams to drive measurable improvements across the revenue cycle and core operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership of AI and automation strategy, planning, and execution, overseeing the development, deployment, and scaling of enterprise-wide AI initiatives across the revenue cycle and core operations.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CTO and ELT, evaluating future technology needs, emerging AI capabilities, and operational challenges to ensure the Company stays ahead of industry trends and proactively anticipates what’s next.
  • Establish a clear AI roadmap and execution cadence aligned with organizational goals and annual strategic initiatives, outlining priority use cases, milestones, and measurable performance targets.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing cross-functional AI organization—including engineering, data science, product, and operations—through strong processes, scalable systems, and talent development.
  • Oversee and enhance communication of all AI and automation reporting, including operational impact, ROI, adoption metrics, platform performance, and progress against strategic initiatives for the CTO, CEO, Board, and investors.
  • Own the design and governance of AI/automation platforms, including model development, data pipelines, compliance, security, risk management, and integration with RCM workflows.
  • Develop and maintain key AI performance indicators (KPIs) and monitoring systems to measure solution performance, workflow efficiency, accuracy improvements, and financial impact.
  • Partner with product, operations, and client-facing teams to ensure AI solutions are operationally sound, client-ready, and optimized for scalability, value creation, and differentiation.
  • Champion AI adoption and literacy across the organization, ensuring teams are trained, aligned, and empowered to integrate automation into their workflows.
  • Participate as a core leader within the technology and executive management teams, contributing to major decisions on innovation priorities, operational improvements, and long-term value creation.

Essential Functions and Tasks

  • Proven leadership experience building and directing AI, automation, data science, or engineering teams within healthcare services, RCM, managed services, or BPO environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in distributed, multi-location or offshore-enabled models, collaborating effectively across diverse operational, regulatory, and cultural environments.
  • Previous experience in a private equity–backed organization or similarly fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Forward-looking strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate emerging technology needs, identify high-value automation opportunities, and guide long-term innovation and value creation.
  • Hands-on ownership of core AI/automation functions including model development, platform governance, data infrastructure, workflow integration, and performance optimization.
  • Prior experience assessing, implementing, and improving technology infrastructure with scalable, cost-effective systems, tools, and processes.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across technical, operational, and executive stakeholders, including investors and strategic partners.
  • Demonstrated success implementing analytics, automation, KPIs, and monitoring systems that drive improved operational and financial performance.
  • Experience navigating compliance, security, and audit requirements for AI, data, and automation within a healthcare or regulated environment.
  • Track record of executing initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and throughput using advanced analytics and automation.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, standards, model lifecycle management, and technology planning.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate AI strategy, operational impact, and roadmap priorities to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to build cross-functional alignment, foster transparency, and drive adoption in a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • High-energy, entrepreneurial leader with a hands-on approach and desire to build, scale, and continuously improve in a fast-growing organization.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Compensation

Base Compensation will be based on various factors unique to each candidate including geographic location, skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. This position is also eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus in accordance with company policies.
