About the role
Job Summary
As a Senior Product Marketing Manager at VelocityEHS, you will be instrumental in driving go-to-market strategies and achieving sales and marketing results. This role requires an audience-centric approach to market understanding, message crafting, and sales enablement. You will deeply understand buyer motivations, communicate value in terms of business outcomes, and possess expert knowledge of the competitive landscape. Your insights, backed by market evidence, will shape product positioning and messaging, empowering the sales team. Collaboration with marketing and sales teams will focus on demand generation, while partnerships with product management will refine product-market fit. Exceptional attention to detail and a clear articulation of the value proposition are crucial for success.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Market Intelligence: Become the expert on buyers, their purchasing behaviors, and key criteria. Engage with people to gather actionable insights and document buyer processes, information sources, and decision-making factors.
- Competitive Analysis: Master the competitive landscape, understand competitor positioning, develop competitive strategies, and maintain up-to-date information.
- Business Growth: Create and champion plans to increase market share in assigned segments. Collaborate with product management to influence the product roadmap and enhance product-market fit.
- Product Launches: Coordinate the successful launch of new offerings within assigned segments.
- Messaging and Positioning: Develop clear, compelling messaging and positioning that resonates with target buyer personas.
- Sales Enablement: Drive sales enablement programs and thought leadership initiatives. Support go-to-market, pricing, and packaging strategies with market evidence.
- Strategic Narratives: Develop strategic narratives for solutions to facilitate the creation of high-quality marketing assets and campaign content.
- Sales and Customer Success Support: Enable sales and customer success teams to understand buyer problems. Partner with sales training to develop internal tools and with marketing communications for external collateral.
- Integrated Marketing: Leverage a strong understanding of integrated marketing channels to promote solutions based on product lifecycle, Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), and revenue targets.
- Success Metrics: Success will be measured qualitatively by stakeholder enablement and quantitatively by growth rate, win rate, and sales cycle in the assigned segment.
Minimum Skills And Qualifications
- Possess empathy, humility, curiosity, and strong business acumen.
- Minimum of 8 years of product marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a market-facing role for a B2B SaaS provider.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; MBA strongly preferred.
- A persuasive public speaker, comfortable presenting to executive groups, and a solid writer.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally, comfortable with remote collaboration tools.
Preferred Skills And Qualifications
- Industry experience in Manufacturing, Chemicals, Food & Beverage, Mining, Oil & Gas, or Pharmaceuticals.
- Pragmatic Institute Certified (PMC) II or higher, or equivalent certification (PMA, SVPG).
