Cloud Engineer at Veikkaus

We're looking for a Cloud Engineer to execute the product development and operational maintenance of our Cloud Platform, a critical part of our broader Technology Platform offering. The cloud platforms team builds and manages productized cloud-based services that enable fast, efficient, and scalable product development across multiple business domains and international markets. The position is permanent and full-time.

What We're Looking For:

• Awareness of modern application architectures and DevOps methodologies
• Experience in public cloud platforms e.g. GCP or AWS
• Experience developing and managing infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with tools like Terraform, Python, and Node.js
• Knowledge of container technology (e.g. Docker)

Considered An Advantage:

• A proactive mindset and strong sense of ownership
• Background in cloud technologies or platform engineering, ideally in productized environments
• Experience in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), including designing and managing high-availability, multi-tenant clusters.
• Experience in RBAC, Prometheus, Flux, Helm chart
• GitLab or similar tools know-how
• Experience in developing custom applications and scripts to automate processes
• Knowledge of Grafana cloud
• Experience in product management, technical product ownership, or similar roles
• Practical understanding of Agile development practices
• Ability to prioritize, communicate clearly, and build trust with technical teams and stakeholders
• Excellent Finnish and English skills

You’ll operate in a fast-paced, agile environment where productization, automation, and scalability are key success factors. The role is highly collaborative and has a strong product ownership dimension.

This position suits someone who enjoys turning infrastructure into products, simplifying complex technologies for wider use, and driving platform development in a structured, value-driven way.

The position is located at Veikkaus’ headquarters in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki. We work flexibly in a hybrid model with three on-site days per week. Please note that the job requires a valid residence permit from all non-EU citizens.
