The Role: Data Analyst

Veeva Link's vision is to become the global leader for deep data in life sciences. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Data Analyst to join our product team and play a pivotal role in achieving this vision.

In this position, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing a robust data governance framework, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of our data. Your primary responsibilities will include establishing rigorous data quality monitoring processes, identifying the root causes of inconsistencies, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to resolve data gaps efficiently.

To excel as a Data Analyst, expertise in SQL and Python for advanced data manipulation and automation is essential. You should be adept at managing large datasets, designing impactful dashboards that provide actionable recommendations, and applying statistical techniques to continuously assess and enhance data quality.

The ideal Data Analyst candidate will also have proven experience in creating comprehensive documentation, including process documentation and data collection guidelines, and in contributing to the development of data governance policies and best practices.

What You'll Do

  • Implement a comprehensive data governance framework.
  • Establish and maintain robust processes for tracking and assessing data quality.
  • Develop automated checks to proactively detect data inconsistencies.
  • Apply statistical techniques to enhance overall data quality.
  • Create customized reports and dashboards for various stakeholders.
  • Extract critical data from diverse databases (e.g., Redshift, MongoDB).
  • Identify and meticulously resolve the root causes of quality issues.
  • Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams of product managers, engineering, and operations.
  • Create and maintain essential documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in a data analysis or data quality role.
  • Strong technical skills in data analysis, with proven proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Experience in data storage and processing on leading cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and demonstrated experience working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in writing thorough process documentation and data collection guidelines.

Nice to Have

  • University degree in medicine or life sciences.
  • Understanding of healthcare, life sciences, or pharmaceutical industry data.
  • Experience with data visualization tools to create compelling dashboards and reports.
  • Understanding of data engineering concepts (ETL, data pipelines).
  • Experience with workflow automation tools such as Apache Airflow.
  • Experience working in an Agile or product-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with data privacy and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
