The Role: Consultant - Clinical Operations

Veeva Systems is actively seeking Consultants and Senior Consultants with expertise in content management, clinical trials, and/or software implementation. As a vital member of our Professional Services team, you will be instrumental in understanding customer challenges and clinical needs, translating these into effective solution designs, delivering comprehensive training, and providing support during application validation.

For Senior Consultants, the role extends to leading and mentoring talented project team members, collaborating with them to implement and configure designed solutions. This is a remote position within the EU/UK, provided the candidate is in close proximity to an airport and can meet travel requirements. Qualified EU/UK-based candidates are highly encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

  • Lead life science customers through the rapid configuration and implementation of solutions such as eTMF, CTMS, Site Connect, Study Training, Study Startup, and Payments.
  • Participate actively in workshops to thoroughly discuss and capture customer requirements.
  • Guide customers towards optimal design decisions that align with their operational goals.
  • Document all critical design decisions to ensure clarity and traceability.
  • Monitor Veeva Vault configuration to ensure precise matching with the agreed-upon design specifications.
  • Support customers in their validation activities and meticulously write necessary validation documentation.
  • Deliver engaging and effective training sessions, either onsite or remotely.
  • Submit valuable product enhancement requests based on direct project experience and customer feedback.
  • Ensure unparalleled customer success throughout the entire engagement lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working in clinical trials with a clear understanding of compliance considerations and processes AND/OR proven experience in implementation projects as a consultant, business, or IT lead for solutions like eTMF, CTMS, Site Connect, Study Training, Study Startup, or Payments.
  • Some foundational understanding of life sciences content management principles.
  • Some understanding of life sciences compliance and computer systems validation requirements.
  • A proven ability to work independently and effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel as required to meet project needs.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the European Union and the UK. Veeva Systems does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status for this position.

Nice to Have

  • Direct experience with clinical systems such as Veeva Vault, ePharmaSolutions, PhlexEview, WingSpan, OpenText, SharePoint, Documentum, FirstDoc/FirstPoint, NextDocs, BioClinica CTMS, IMPACT CTMS, Medidata CTMS, GoBalto, or other relevant clinical technologies.
  • A life-science or computer science-related degree.
  • Experience with SaaS/Cloud platforms.
  • Prior experience in demoing software applications during pre-sales activities.
  • Experience in services delivery management.
  • Fluency in one or more additional languages: German, French, Italian, or Spanish.
