About the Role
As a Product & Application Security Engineer at Veeam, you are a Senior Security Engineer with a product architect mindset and coding skills. You work on Veeam Kasten’s market-leading Kubernetes data protection software, ensuring security throughout the software lifecycle.
Your Impact
- Design & Architecture: Lead security in design reviews and threat modeling.
- Code-Level Security: Review pull requests and audit code for vulnerabilities.
- Vulnerability Remediation: Triaging findings and writing production-ready patches.
- Secure Software Supply Chain: Ensure integrity of build dependencies and open-source libraries.
What You’ll Do
- Triage and fix security alerts from tools like Grype, Cycode, and Wiz.
- Implement code fixes for security tech-debt across our stack.
- Conduct Threat Modeling sessions in two-week sprint cycles.
- Serve as a Kubernetes security SME and share best practices.
- Lead audits, incidents, and compliance reviews with the security community.
Technologies You’ll Work With
- Core: Go, Vue.js, Docker, Kubernetes
- Security Tooling: Grype, Syft, Checkmarx, Cycode, Wiz
- Environment: Public Cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP), On-Prem K8s distributions (OpenShift, Tanzu)
What You’ll Bring
- Developer DNA with proficiency in Go and exposure to Vue.js.
- Kubernetes Native experience and thorough understanding of its security primitives.
- Shift-Left Mindset integrating security early in the SDLC.
- Familiarity with modern AppSec and Supply Chain tools such as Grype, Cycode, and Wiz.
- A pragmatic approach balancing perfect security with efficient software delivery.
