About The Role
The Veeam Quality Assurance team invites you to work on Veeam products with Veeam QA professionals in the Lisbon R&D office.
As a Junior Performance QA Engineer at Veeam, you will start building hands‑on experience with performance and load testing of enterprise‑grade data protection products used worldwide. You will work alongside experienced performance engineers, developers, and product teams, learning how large‑scale systems behave under real workloads and how performance issues are identified and resolved.
What You'll Do
- Participate in performance, load, and basic scalability testing of Veeam product components
- Assist with test planning, test execution, and collection of performance metrics
- Analyze test results under guidance to identify potential bottlenecks, regressions, or abnormal behavior
- Help maintain and operate performance test labs: environment setup, configuration, and basic monitoring
- Reproduce performance‑related issues reported by QA, Development, or Technical Support
- Collaborate with other QA engineers, developers, and product managers to validate fixes and improvements
- Document test results, observations, and findings in a clear and structured way
What You'll Bring
- Technical education or strong interest in systems, performance, and infrastructure
- Initial experience or strong academic background in performance or load testing (internships, projects, labs are acceptable)
- Basic understanding of operating systems: Windows and Linux
- General knowledge of system components (CPU, memory, storage, networking) and how they impact performance
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, willingness to learn structured problem analysis
- English proficiency for daily communication within international teams
Bonus Skills
- Basic experience with databases (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
- Introductory scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms or cloud environments
- Interest in test automation or infrastructure‑as‑code concepts
