What We Look For In a NBE Tutor

• Advanced Test Mastery: Deep knowledge of National Board Examination content for funeral service covering embalming, funeral directing, pathology, microbiology, chemistry, restorative art, funeral service counseling, business management, and federal and state regulatory compliance. Ability to explain embalming theory, funeral law, and grief counseling principles while preparing mortuary science students for national board certification.
• Strategic Test-Taking & Problem-Solving: Skilled at teaching embalming procedure analysis, regulatory compliance application, and funeral service business scenarios for NBE. Guides students through analyzing embalming case scenarios, applying FTC Funeral Rule requirements, counseling bereaved families, and managing funeral home business operations. Emphasizes connecting scientific knowledge to practical funeral service applications and regulatory compliance.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with NBE content areas and common challenges such as embalming chemistry complexity, funeral law variations, and integrating counseling skills with business management knowledge. Adapts instruction using practice examinations, embalming case studies, and regulatory scenario analysis to support mortuary science graduates preparing for national board certification in funeral service.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
