About This Role

As a Simulation Software Engineer at Varda Space Industries, you will design, develop, and test the simulation infrastructure and physics models for spacecraft and reentry capsules. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to build high-performance simulation tools, prototype design models, and ensure robust testing from requirements to deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-performance simulation software to model hardware and system behaviors.
  • Create tooling for spacecraft physics in mission simulation exercises.
  • Collaborate with engineers across disciplines for design prototyping.
  • Own design, testing, analysis, and integration of simulation products.
  • Iterate with simulation users to enhance product functionality.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience with C, C++, or Python.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Capability to scope projects with open-ended problems.

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • Strong math and physics background.
  • Experience in debugging and performance optimization.
  • Expertise in physics modeling or real-time system emulation.
  • Understanding of computer architectures and heterogeneous computing systems.

Pay Range & Benefits

Salary range: $130,000 - $193,000. This role is on-site in El Segundo, CA. Benefits include stock options, 401(k) matching, unlimited PTO, health insurance, on-site meals, and more.
