About the Role
The City of Vantaa's Facility Management is seeking a Technical Property Manager for a permanent position. In this role, you will be a key member of the maintenance team, ensuring the lifecycle of the City of Vantaa's facilities. You will serve as a maintenance expert, responsible for managing and overseeing various repair projects from start to finish.
You will be involved in planning and developing maintenance and repair strategies that directly impact the functionality, safety, and long-term value of the city's properties. Your work will be varied and hands-on, including property inspections, guiding repair project planning, and managing project schedules and budgets.
In your role, you will actively participate in construction preparation, lead and supervise on-site execution, and ensure projects are smoothly handed over and managed through the warranty period. Your daily tasks will combine technical expertise, holistic management, and collaboration with various stakeholders. You will be familiar with construction and property maintenance legislation, regulatory requirements, and contract practices, and you will be able to apply them effectively in practical situations. You have the ability to grasp broad concepts while also focusing on details to ensure a high-quality and sustainable outcome.

About the Team and Department
The Facility Management service unit within the City of Vantaa's City Environment department is responsible for the planning, construction, and maintenance of the city's facilities. The City of Vantaa directly owns approximately 800 buildings with a technical value exceeding 900 million euros.
The Facility Management department employs around 70 people, most of whom have a technical background. Our team includes architects, engineers (M.Sc. and B.Sc.), and technicians. Our employees' educational backgrounds include building construction, structural engineering, HVAC engineering, electrical engineering, automation engineering, and property management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Eligibility: A suitable lower university degree or college engineering degree, along with experience in similar roles.
- Additionally Required: Knowledge of legislation and regulations concerning properties and buildings, and proficiency in contract terms. Good knowledge of construction engineering.
Meritorious Qualifications
- Previous experience in similar roles.
- Knowledge of public administration.
- Further training related to property maintenance and repair construction.
- Expertise in addressing moisture and indoor air quality issues.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Modern ICT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Employment Details
- Salary: €3,964.76 per month, plus potential additions based on prior work experience.
- Number of Vacancies: 1
- Probationary Period: 6 months
- Work Hours: 36 hours 15 minutes per week
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Contract Terms: According to the Municipal Technical Personnel Agreement (TS).
