Job Overview
Vantaa City's Facility Management is seeking a Technical Property Manager for a permanent position. In this role, you will work within the maintenance team, playing a key role in ensuring the lifecycle of Vantaa City's facilities. You will act as a maintenance expert, responsible for managing and supervising a variety of repair projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and develop maintenance and repair processes impacting facility functionality, safety, and long-term value.
- Conduct property inspections and surveys.
- Guide the planning of repair projects and manage schedules and budgets from start to finish.
- Participate in construction preparation, lead and supervise execution on construction sites, and ensure smooth project handover and warranty periods.
- Combine technical expertise, overall management, and collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Apply knowledge of construction and property maintenance legislation, regulations, and contract practices.
- Perceive broad contexts while focusing on details to ensure quality and durability.

About the Department
The Facility Management service unit within Vantaa City's Urban Environment division handles functions related to the planning, construction, and maintenance of city facilities. Vantaa City directly owns approximately 800 buildings with a technical value exceeding 900 million euros. The Facility Management department employs around 70 people, most of whom have technical backgrounds including architects, civil engineers, engineers, and technicians. Their educational backgrounds span building construction, structural engineering, HVAC, electrical engineering, automation engineering, and property economics.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Eligibility: Suitable lower university degree or polytechnic engineer degree with relevant experience.
- Required: Knowledge of property and building legislation, regulations, and contract terms; strong understanding of construction engineering.
- Advantageous: Previous experience in similar roles, familiarity with public administration, further training in property maintenance and repair construction, expertise in moisture and indoor air problem remediation, good interaction and problem-solving skills, modern ICT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: €3,964.76 per month, plus potential additions based on prior work experience.
- Contract: Permanent position with a 6-month probationary period.
- Work Hours: 36 hours 15 minutes per week.
