As a Senior II Fullstack Engineer, Trust, you’ll lead high-impact, ambiguous projects across our entire technical stack, playing a key role in shaping the direction of our product. You’ll collaborate closely with customers to deeply understand their needs and mentor a talented engineering team to deliver innovative, scalable solutions.

About the Role at Vanta

As a Senior II Fullstack Engineer at Vanta, you’ll be responsible for leading complex, cross-functional projects that may span across teams and systems. Senior Engineers at Vanta have a demonstrated history of leadership—you will define architecture, scope and assign work, align stakeholders, mentor engineers, and ship critical components, and you have a lengthy track record of doing this. You’ll help develop and scale Vanta’s Trust Products, and guide technical growth across the org.

Vanta’s levels are a little different than other tech companies- we often see people with Staff or Principal titles at other organizations with scope that matches our Senior level.

What You’ll Do as a Senior II Fullstack Engineer, Trust at Vanta

  • Lead initiatives: bring clarity to ambiguity, define product scope, and solve for technical complexity.
  • Work with Product and Design partners to shape technical solutions that meet real customer needs.
  • Define architecture, delegate implementation across multiple engineers, and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Deliver key portions of the project directly while reviewing and unblocking others.
  • Drive knowledge sharing and mentor engineers, including senior engineers.
  • Setting long term technical strategy for your team and raise engineering quality bar.

How to be successful in this role

  • Minimum of 7 years of product-side full stack experience; there is no maximum, we often hire Senior Engineers who have 7–10+ years baseline of product delivery and tech lead experience.
  • Have experience with our stack: Typescript, React, GraphQL.
  • Has a track record of successfully led highly ambiguous and complex projects where problems and solutions are not well defined, while coordinating groups of engineers and working with cross functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with autonomy, align product and engineering needs, and land high-quality outcomes.
  • Trusted to lead not just code, but also planning, process, and culture.
  • Mentors across levels at a team-wide scale; a technical role model and coach.
  • Contributes to/leads programs which uplevel the code quality of the team.
  • Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
