You’ll leverage your past experience and play a crucial role in laying the groundwork for a successful engineering organization, contributing to developing foundational processes that enable our entire team to scale — onboarding, interview loops, career frameworks, execution frameworks, and more.

What you’ll do as a Senior Engineering Manager at Vanta
- Drive significant impact for our customers and business by leading teams to deliver results consistently and sustainably.
- Build a best-in-class engineering team. Coach, mentor and create an environment where your team can do their best work and deliver for the business.
- Set direction and guide technical strategy, ensuring that your team is delivering long-term value aligned with Vanta’s business priorities.
- Work closely with Vanta’s customers and customer-facing teammates to build and ship high-value products and infrastructure.
- Play an integral role in laying the foundation for Vanta’s engineering culture.
How to be successful in this role
- Have 5 or more years of professional experience in a full-time engineering manager role for product engineering teams.
- Experience leading team sizes of 15-20+ with managers or leads reporting into you.
- Strong decision maker who effectively balances ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality.
- Have participated in developing or driving engineering-wide initiatives (recruiting processes, career frameworks, etc.) in a prior role.
- Have prior experience managing complex, long-term projects that touch multiple teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Effective communicator and story-teller. Able to influence cross-functional stakeholders and adjacent teams.
- Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
