Overview

As the Senior Director, Commercial Legal, you will lead the commercial legal function and work closely with go-to-market and procurement teams to manage contract negotiations, develop processes, and oversee legal operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of commercial lawyers.
- Negotiate customer and partner deals in collaboration with global sales.
- Oversee vendor contracts ensuring protection for Vanta and its customers.
- Develop and implement legal policies and processes.
- Maintain legal templates including MSAs, Privacy Policies, and DPAs.
- Monitor regulatory changes and advise on legal risk management.
- Collaborate across teams and handle escalations effectively.
- Integrate AI tools responsibly to improve efficiency.
Requirements
- JD degree and 10+ years of legal experience.
- At least 5 years managing a commercial legal team at a hyper-growth tech company.
- Experience in SaaS agreements, contract and corporate law.
- Strong negotiating, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to support teams across multiple time zones.
