As a Lead Technical Recruiter, you will be instrumental in driving Engineering hiring across Vanta's global operations. This pivotal role involves close partnership with senior stakeholders, representing Vanta’s talent brand, and significantly contributing to the expansion of our critical engineering teams worldwide.

You will operate as a strategic partner to senior engineering and executive leaders, actively shaping hiring strategy, setting rigorous assessment standards, enhancing Vanta’s talent brand in the competitive market, and successfully securing top-tier technical talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting: Manage the entire recruitment process from initial sourcing to successful closing. Identify and engage top talent through diverse channels, extend competitive offers, and skillfully negotiate to close hires, ensuring an exceptional candidate experience from first contact through onboarding.
  • Act as a trusted advisor: Strategically partner with senior stakeholders, influencing hiring strategy, refining role intakes, and optimizing prioritization and trade-offs to align with overarching business outcomes.
  • Uphold high technical hiring standards: Collaborate closely with engineering leadership to design and calibrate effective candidate assessments, ensuring a consistently high bar for technical talent.
  • Drive decisions with data: Utilize analytics to track funnel health, evaluate talent pool effectiveness, and monitor hiring velocity. Continuously analyze data to identify opportunities for improving hiring efficiencies and outcomes.
  • Represent and evolve Vanta’s talent brand: Ensure every candidate experiences a thoughtful, high-signal, and respectful recruiting process that reflects Vanta’s commitment to excellence and inclusion.

Candidate Profile for Success

  • Possess 10+ years of extensive full-cycle technical recruiting experience, ideally within dynamic and fast-paced environments, including expertise in hiring engineering executives or IC leaders.
  • Demonstrate a strong track record of successfully closing candidates in complex offer scenarios, including those involving privately held, venture-backed companies, as well as publicly held entities. Exhibit adeptness in explaining the trade-offs of varying equity vehicles and outcomes.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with stakeholders across all organizational levels, from individual contributors to executives, with a demonstrated skill in strategic influence.
  • Exhibit deep understanding of the technical talent landscape, including role scarcity, competitive dynamics, and evolving skill sets, coupled with strong sourcing and market intelligence capabilities.
  • Bring strong analytical and critical thinking skills to recruiting decisions and process design, with a natural curiosity and commitment to continuous learning, always seeking to understand the “why” behind actions.
  • Be open to leveraging AI to amplify skills and strengthen work, demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
