Role Overview

The Engineering Manager, Monetization will lead our monetization platform team to reimagine Vanta’s customer lifecycle infrastructure by unifying entitlement management, usage tracking, and billing into a cohesive platform. This role directly impacts Vanta's growth trajectory by solving technically interesting distributed systems problems at the intersection of product, finance, and sales.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend and full-stack engineers.
  • Define and execute technical strategy for a unified monetization platform.
  • Build scalable APIs and reusable UX components for customer access.
  • Champion operational excellence, engineering best practices, and sustainable delivery.

Success Factors

  • 3+ years managing technical teams of six or more engineers.
  • Proven record in scaling backend or platform systems in transaction-heavy domains.
  • Strong decision maker skilled in balancing ambiguity with quality and speed.
  • Excellent collaboration with engineering, product, and go-to-market stakeholders.

Stand Out Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise billing, pricing, or financial data platforms.
  • Background in SaaS monetization, revenue operations, or entitlement management.
  • Familiarity with self-serve commerce and product-led growth models.
  • Experience scaling systems and teams during high-growth phases.
