Senior Product Manager Identity Governance & Administration
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
- Define and own the IGA product vision and roadmap, aligned to Vanguard’s Zero Trust strategy and enterprise risk priorities.
- Translate identity governance challenges into clear product outcomes—automation, improved signal quality, reduced standing access, and faster lifecycle execution.
- Drive modernization of IGA capabilities, including lifecycle management, access requests, certifications, roles, entitlements, and policy enforcement.
Backlog Ownership & Delivery
- Own and prioritize the IGA product backlog, balancing regulatory requirements, risk reduction, operational efficiency, and user experience.
- Translate business, audit, and operational needs into clear epics, features, and user stories for engineering teams.
- Partner with IAM engineering to deliver scalable, API driven, and ‑automation first solutions.
- Partner with app onboarding team and engineering to onboard applications into IGA, define integration patterns, and manage the full application access lifecycle (onboarding, changes, recertification, and deprovisioning) to ensure consistent controls and clean offboarding.
Automation & Optimization
- Identify and drive opportunities to eliminate manual governance processes through automation and orchestration.
- Champion policy‑based access, role and entitlement hygiene, and Just‑in‑Time (JIT) governance models.
- Leverage data and analytics to improve certification quality, reduce noise, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Stakeholder & Partner Engagement
- Serve as the primary IGA product interface to cybersecurity, compliance, audit, HR, application owners, and global IAM operations.
- Partner closely with IAM Operations to ensure operability, reliability, and supportability are built into the product.
- Communicate product direction, tradeoffs, and progress clearly to senior stakeholders.
Governance, Risk & Compliance Alignment
- Ensure IGA capabilities meet regulatory and audit requirements, including SOX, SOC, and enterprise control standards.
- Support audit and risk activities by enabling consistent, repeatable, and well‑evidenced identity governance processes.
- Balance compliance needs with user experience and operational efficiency.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Product Management Expertise
- Proven experience as a Product Manager or Technical Product Manager owning complex platforms or internal products.
- Strong ability to define vision, prioritize effectively, and deliver outcomes through cross‑functional teams.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and driving clarity.
IGA / IAM Domain Knowledge
- Solid understanding of workforce IAM and IGA concepts, including: Joiner / Mover / Leaver lifecycle, Access requests and approvals, Access certifications, Roles, entitlements, and SoD, Identity governance controls and audit evidence.
Technical & Analytical Acumen
- Ability to partner deeply with engineers on APIs, integrations, workflows, and data models.
- Experience using metrics and analytics to drive product decisions and measure success.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern identity patterns.
Leadership & Communication
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technology, security, and business teams.
- Ability to explain complex identity concepts in clear, outcome‑focused terms.
- Collaborative mindset with a bias toward action and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Preferred 10 years of experience in product management, IAM, cybersecurity, or enterprise platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments preferred.
