Manager, Data Infrastructure
The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, responsible for Canada’s largest port, is seeking a Manager, Data Infrastructure. This role is key in designing, evolving, and operating the enterprise data platform that supports analytics, digital capabilities, and advanced AI/ML initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead modernization of on-premise and cloud data platforms, primarily on Azure.
- Define and deliver the data infrastructure roadmap ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Oversee data architecture, integration pipelines and storage solutions for operational and predictive analytics.
- Manage a team of data developers, engineers, and administrators.
- Drive enterprise data governance, Master Data Management, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with business units, IS teams and vendor partners.
Technical Skills and Experience
- Strong background in data architecture, ETL operations, and database administration.
- Hands-on expertise with Azure data services including Fabric, Data Factory, Synapse, and Power BI.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages like PowerShell and Python.
- Exposure to CI/CD, modern integration practices and data quality/security standards.
Additional Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in technical team leadership or management.
- Relevant academic background in computer science or technology.
- Asset: Experience with advanced analytics, ML/AI, open-source frameworks, and modern data cataloging tools.
