Position Description

The Technical Product Manager role is a high impact, hands-on position within one of Valsoft's subsidiaries located in the enterprise asset management space, with a focus on manufacturing and industrials. This role requires technical expertise, product vision, and industry knowledge to create solutions that deliver measurable customer value. It involves leading an R&D team, evaluating trade-offs, working with APIs and data models, and even prototyping and scripting solutions. You will also set the tone for the R&D department and drive direct value as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end modernization of the existing application.
  • Define future product vision and roadmap in partnership with the Managing Director.
  • Engage with customers to gather insights and translate them into product opportunities.
  • Lead R&D to evaluate technical approaches, ensuring scalability.
  • Develop prototypes, write clear specs, and build user stories.
  • Manage the backlog, test features, analyze data, and write queries and scripts.
  • Set up processes for prioritization, discovery, and release cycles.
  • Define and track success metrics (KPIs) to measure impact.
  • Bridge the gap between customers, business, and R&D.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, product management, or a technical founder role.
  • Strong technical foundation with expertise in building complex applications.
  • Proven ability to ship products from ideation to delivery.
  • Excellent customer empathy and strong communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently.
  • Data-driven experience with SQL, analytics tools, and experimentation.
  • Familiarity with generative AI, cloud deployment, and CI/CD methodologies.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
