Job Summary

The Information Security Analyst II position supports UTA as a key member of the Information Security team. The role is responsible for protecting information systems across the agency. The successful candidate will be a competent and productive professional, applying acquired skills, adhering to policies and standard operating procedures, and completing substantive assignments, projects, or tasks of moderate to substantial scope and complexity independently or with assistance. They will handle multiple information security system alerts and issues, triaging incidents based on risk factors, business criticality, and industry best practices.

Education & Training

- 4-5 years of experience in information security analysis work or a BS degree from an accredited institution with relevant coursework in IT security, computer information systems, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field.- Required Level II baseline certification (DoD 8570 Baseline Certifications).- Demonstrated strong experience in IT, systems, or security with skills in cybersecurity research and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

- Combination of training and education with 400+ hours emphasis on Information Systems / Technology.- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity.- Experience in threat hunting, forensic investigations, and security incident response upon moderate supervision.- Knowledge in root cause analysis, endpoint/server/cloud security solutions, and monitoring tools.- Excellent communication, network, computer, and office automation skills.- Familiarity with Security Management Frameworks (preferably NIST CSF) and operating systems including Microsoft, Android, and Apple.- Proven ability to manage projects and direct tasks performed by others, including contractors.- Ability to create training documentation and train team members on supported security systems.

Additional Requirements

- Valid Utah driver's license with compliance on violation limits.- Ability to pass BCI, FBI, and UCJIS background checks.- Regular and predictable attendance; work arrangement can be onsite or remote as determined by the manager.

Compensation & Benefits
