Lead Software Testing Engineer

Role Overview

UST is seeking a QA Engineer with 5+ years of experience testing complex, cloud-based applications and desktop applications such as Hive and Microsoft PowerPoint. The role focuses on end-to-end quality validation across UI, functional, integration, and backend systems with a strong emphasis on test automation and data integrity.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain test cases aligned with business requirements.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing across various components.
• Validate Azure-based applications and desktop applications from a QA perspective.
• Utilize test automation tools and frameworks to support efficient testing.
• Log and track defects while collaborating with engineering teams to drive resolution.

Required Skill Sets

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in QA for cloud-based applications (Azure preferred) and desktop apps.
• Strong testing fundamentals including test case design, functional and regression testing.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases.
• Experience with at least one programming language (preferably C# or Java).
• Familiarity with test automation tools, API testing (Postman or equivalent), and performance testing tools (JMeter).
• Experience with observability and logging tools such as Azure Application Insights, KQL, Elasticsearch, and Kibana.
• Desktop automation experience or the willingness to upskill in this area.

Good To Have Skills

• Experience in executing API testing including response and error validation.
• Proficiency in performance testing using JMeter, including load, stress and endurance testing.
