The Role: US LBM Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Specialist
The Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Specialist is critical for maintaining seamless business operations by expertly analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving complex Microsoft 365 and collaboration platform issues. This role demands advanced technical knowledge to evaluate system behavior, identify root causes, and implement effective resolution strategies, often without predefined procedures. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Specialist prioritizes work based on business impact, risk, and technical complexity.
What You Will Do
- Analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex, non-routine issues across Microsoft 365 services, including Outlook/Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.
- Apply advanced technical knowledge to determine root causes and resolution strategies for issues lacking predefined scripts or standard operating procedures.
- Conduct advanced technical investigations utilizing message tracing, audit logs, security and compliance tools, and Microsoft 365 administrative portals.
- Evaluate business impact, risk, and urgency to prioritize issues, sequence resolutions, and manage escalation paths effectively.
- Meet or exceed service level and queue health expectations.
- Manage collaboration environments, including shared mailboxes, Microsoft 365 groups, Teams, and SharePoint access structures, in adherence to governance standards.
- Execute approved configuration changes within Microsoft 365 administrative portals, applying technical judgment to align with business needs.
- Participate in change management activities, including risk assessment, implementation planning, and post-change validation.
- Contribute to planned project initiatives, system upgrades, and change-related activities, which may occasionally require work outside of standard business hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards and adhere to the Company’s commitment to workplace safety.
- Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
Education & Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4+ years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments in an administrative or advanced support capacity.
- Hands-on experience with Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive administration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills covering mail flow, permissions, authentication, and collaboration platform issues.
Skills & Abilities
- Experience working with third-party support vendors or managed services.
- Familiarity with ITSM systems and structured support workflows (incident, problem, change).
- Exposure to PowerShell for operational tasks.
- Strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills.
- Logical, structured problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage priorities, maintain queue hygiene, and follow documented processes.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users.
Travel Requirements
10% Travel expected.
