Role Summary
The Category Buyer Analyst is responsible for supporting the purchasing process within a specific product category. The role includes executing category strategies, managing supplier negotiations, and ensuring cost-effective sourcing to contribute to overall supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities including sourcing, purchasing, and supplier relationship management.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with potential suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Collaborate with fulfillment and operations teams to forecast demand and manage inventory.
- Conduct market analysis to track industry trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities.
- Develop cost-saving strategies and ensure continuous improvement in sourcing practices.
- Review supplier performance and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Support contract negotiations ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field.Experience: 3+ years in sourcing, ideally within a specific category, with strong industry knowledge in building materials.Skills: Proven negotiation skills, market analysis, detail orientation, proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), and MS Office.
