Summary
This Social Worker - Suicide Prevention Case Manager position at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Award amounts and eligibility are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program after a complete review of the EDRP application.
Qualifications and Basic Requirements
Applicants must hold a master’s degree in social work from a CSWE accredited school. Licensure or certification by a state is required (with some exceptions at GS-9). Applicants pending educational or licensure requirements may be tentatively selected but not hired until all requirements are met. English proficiency is required. The position follows detailed federal guidelines regarding credential verification.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and coordinate enhanced care for Veterans flagged at high risk for suicide.
- Engage in case management services and track detailed data on local and national metrics.
- Follow-up on Veterans Crisis Line calls and ensure compliance with safety planning guidelines.
- Provide cross-campus support, consultation, outreach, and training regarding suicide prevention.
- Perform additional mental health service duties as required, including urgent care coverage.
Additional Information
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position located at the VA Boston Healthcare System in Jamaica Plain, MA.
