About the role
Registered Nurse
The VA Cooperative Studies Program (CSP) is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their division of the Office of Research and Development - VA Central Office. This role is responsible for the planning and conducting of large multicenter clinical trials (MCTs) and maintaining a diverse portfolio of clinical research studies to provide definitive answers to important clinical questions on a national scale for a range of diseases affecting Veterans and the nation.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- English Language Proficiency: Proficient in basic written and spoken English.
- Education: Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing (ACEN or CCNE accredited).
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) Exception: May be appointed temporarily while actively pursuing licensure.
Grade Determinations:
The grade assignment is determined by Scope, Education, and Dimension criteria, detailed in the online assessment. Different levels (Nurse I - Level I, II, III, Nurse II, Nurse III) reflect increasing levels of responsibility, experience, and education.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in clinical trial monitoring or auditing.
- Research experience.
- Relevant clinical trial involvement in any capacity.
Physical Requirements:
The position requires the mental and physical ability to satisfactorily perform the duties of the assignment.
Duties:
- Managing and conducting on-site monitoring visits at clinical sites to assess compliance with regulations, study protocols, and GCP.
- Managing and conducting remote reviews of electronic medical records and other study data to ensure compliance.
- Reviewing and evaluating study files and regulatory documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Preparing detailed written reports with findings and recommendations after visits or reviews.
- Participating in integrating monitoring plans and site performance metric team calls.
- Developing and delivering training on ICH GCP and regulatory requirements.
- Creating presentations for education and training.
