Overview
The Registered Nurse Primary Care Outpatient is responsible for individual nursing practice and delegation of tasks to provide optimal specialty care in a non-virtual, on-site setting at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This role involves patient care, care coordination, health promotion, education, coaching on wellness, disease prevention, and chronic care management.
Qualifications
Candidates must be proficient in written and spoken English and graduates of an accredited nursing program. Applicants need to hold a full, active, and unrestricted nursing license. There are various grade determination levels based on education and experience, from Nurse I to Nurse III. Additional notes include provisions for bridge program candidates and recognized foreign education validations.
Duties
- Develop and implement patient care plans based on assessments and Veteran goals.
- Delegate and oversee tasks, ensuring patient safety and quality care.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care and engage families in the care process.
- Maintain communication with internal and external customers, ensuring ethical and secure practices.
- Participate in unit-based education and evidence-based practice initiatives.
Work Environment & Benefits
This is an on-site position with a regular schedule from Monday to Friday (7:30am - 4:00pm).
