Job Description

Administrative Support Assistant

The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant to provide crucial support in coordinating clerical and day-to-day administrative activities essential to the organization's operations. This role is integral to maintaining the efficiency and smooth functioning of the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate clerical and administrative support activities.
  • Prepare travel and training requests using the Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS).
  • Review training requests for alignment with employee Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
  • Ensure property acquisition, usage, and disposal comply with guidance and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Qualified typist is required.
  • Position requires Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) at least 25% of the duty time.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination based on a background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless previously met.

Qualifications:

To qualify, applicants must meet education and/or experience requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience, and transcripts are required if qualifying based on education.

GS-07 Minimum Qualifications:
  • One year of specialized experience performing at least two of the following: maintaining an office budget; performing administrative support duties (timekeeping, travel, personnel actions); or composing correspondence/reports using automated systems.
OR
  • Education: One full year of graduate-level education in business, administration, finance, or a related field.
OR
  • Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience totaling at least 100% of the requirements.

Additional Information:

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement.
  • Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized.
  • Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 months, potentially extendable.
  • Current permanent Federal employees applying for a Term Appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term Appointment with no statutory return rights.
