As part of ensuring Urban Partner’s continued growth journey, we are establishing a transformational, scalable and data-driven foundation. This includes setting up a Data Operations team within Finance, with a Data Operations Manager as lead.
Role & Purpose
The role as Data Operations Manager is physically located in Nordhavn, Copenhagen, next to many colleagues in our Corporate Functions. The role is pivotal, sitting in Finance and reporting to Mark Reid, Director in Finance, and involving many stakeholders e.g. the Digital & IT function and business teams across the company.
The purpose of the Data Operations Manager is to ensure that the data delivered to users across the UP organization meets the quality standards required by the business. This will be achieved by ensuring that data quality rules are in operation, supporting the correction of data issues and contributing to the design, implementation and review of UP data governance processes.
Responsibility and Tasks
As Data Operations Manager, you will promote, control, and ensure business-as-usual data governance routines and timely quality control with operational monitoring across the UP data landscape. You will oversee and manage the performance of the Data Managed Services function of our external Data Services Provider, and your tasks will encompass:
- Ensuring data quality rules are operational
- Overseeing deployment of new data management projects and initiatives
- Liaising with data owners across all UP business units to promote data quality requirements and fixes
- Managing the service level quality of our external data managed services provider to ensure compliance with SLAs and KPIs
- Continually assessing and reporting on the effectiveness of data quality governance and rules, recommending improvements
- Maintaining “the bible” of data rules and technical validations
Experience & Skills
You have at least five or more years of experience with data operations or data governance role. Ideally, you have worked in an investment company, and if not, in other complex, customer-centric and multinational organisation. We expect you to possess the following professional skills:
- Data flow domain expertise with end-to-end data origination transformation and reporting
- Ability to implement validation processes, data quality standards, and automated controls
- Familiarity with domain appropriate metrics and KPIs for tracking data quality performance
- Acquired expertise in data modelling, data warehousing, ETL processes and data governance principles
- Demonstrable knowledge of cloud based database systems and best practices for data exchange and integration
