Job Summary
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Lead AI Platform & Automation Engineer to own and scale our enterprise AI platform capabilities at UPS. This role will be the primary owner of the IBM watsonx platform and Google Cloud Vertex AI platform, while also supporting Azure. You will drive adoption, standardization, automation, and governance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Leadership: Own IBM watsonx and Google Vertex AI platforms; drive configuration, governance, and operational maturity.
- AI & ML Pipeline Automation: Architect and manage CI/CD and MLOps pipelines including model training, tuning, deployment, data ingestion, and infrastructure automation using Terraform and similar tools.
- Agentic AI Enablement: Design and operationalize pipelines for Agentic AI systems using LLMs and orchestration agents.
- AI Governance: Implement AI governance frameworks using IBM watsonx.governance ensuring compliance and transparency.
- DevSecOps & Automation: Integrate vulnerability scans, security policies, and automated compliance into AI pipelines.
- Business Intelligence & Semantic Modeling: Provide guidance to BI teams using Power BI and Looker, standardizing data models and connectivity.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of AI platform engineers, MLOps practitioners, BI analysts, and DevSecOps engineers.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required. Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, MLOps, or platform leadership, and 3+ years in leading enterprise platform delivery and infrastructure automation. Hands-on experience with IBM watsonx and Vertex AI in production environments is essential. Familiarity with Terraform, GitOps, containerized workflows, AI governance practices, and BI tools such as Power BI and Looker is also required.
