UPS is looking for a strategic and hands-on Lead AI Platform & Automation Engineer to own and scale enterprise AI platform capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Leadership: Lead IBM watsonx and Google Vertex AI platform configuration, governance, and operational maturity.
  • AI & ML Pipeline Automation: Architect and manage CI/CD and MLOps pipelines including model training, deployment, and IaC.
  • Agentic AI Enablement: Design pipelines for Agentic AI systems and integrate workflow agents.
  • AI Governance: Implement governance frameworks including watsonx.governance and ensure compliance.
  • DevSecOps & Automation: Integrate security practices into pipelines, including vulnerability scans and access management.
  • Business Intelligence & Semantic Modeling: Guide BI teams with semantic modeling and connectivity to data lakes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse team across AI, MLOps, BI, and DevSecOps disciplines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, engineering or related field. 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, MLOps, or platform leadership, with 3+ years in enterprise platform delivery. Proven experience with IBM watsonx and Vertex AI in production environments, pipeline automation with Terraform, GitOps, containers, and AI governance frameworks.

Technical Skills

  • Platforms: IBM watsonx.ai, watsonx.governance, Vertex AI, Azure ML
  • Automation: Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps
  • Languages: Python, Bash, YAML
  • Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
  • ML Tools: MLflow, TFX (or similar)
  • Governance: Bias detection, metadata tracking, model lineage, risk management

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications in GCP, IBM, or Azure AI/MLOps are a plus. Experience with Agentic AI systems and familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as NIST and EU AI Act will be beneficial.
