Pharmacist, Chartwell at UPMC
UPMC Chartwell is looking for a full time Pharmacist to join their dedicated team. The Pharmacist will be responsible for safe, effective, and cost-effective pharmacotherapy through supporting centralized and decentralized medication-use systems.
This role involves interpreting physician orders, dispensing medications, ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. You will also provide medication-related education, serve as a resource to healthcare professionals, and precept pharmacy students and residents.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare and dispense medications.
- Monitor patient records for allergies, interactions, and duplications.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support ancillary staff.
- Participate in quality and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Provide drug information and educational programs to staff and students.
- Prepare intravenous admixture solutions using aseptic techniques.
The role requires working rotating shifts including weekends and adherence to the Pennsylvania Pharmacy Practice Act and other regulatory standards.
